বাংলাদেশ একটি নদী মাতৃক দেশ । এ দেশের আনাচে কানাচে শত শত নদী প্রবাহিত হয়েছে । শাখা নদী, উপনদী এমনকি প্রধান নদী দেখা মিলে বিভিন্ন জায়গায়। নদীর সাথে এ দেশের মানুষের সম্পর্ক অত্যন্ত গভীর। এসব নদী সাধারণ মানুষের জীবনযাত্রায় যথেষ্ট ভূমিকা রাখে। আজকের এই পোস্টটিতে আমার বাংলাদেশের বেশ কয়েকটি নদী এবং বাংলাদেশের কোন নদী কোথায় মিলিত হয়েছে? তা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত জানবো।

পদ্মা ও যমুনা এবং পদ্মা ও মেঘনা যথাক্রমে গোয়ালন্দ এবং চাঁদপুরে মিলিত হয়েছে । সুরমা ও কুশিয়ারা নদীদ্বয় হবিগঞ্জের আজমীরি গঞ্জ নামক স্থানে মিলিত হয়েছে। ব্রহ্মপুত্র ও মেঘনা এবং তিস্তা ও ব্রহ্মপুত্র যথাক্রমে ভৈরব বাজার এবং কুড়িগ্রামে মিলিত হয়েছে। হালদা ও কর্ণফুলী নদী দুইটি চট্টগ্রামের কালুরঘাটে মিলিত হয়েছে। এছাড়া রূপসা ও ভৈরব এবং বাঙালি ও যমুনা যথাক্রমে খুলনা এবং বগুড়ায় মিলিত হয়েছে।

আমাদের জীবনে নদীর প্রভাব
নদীমাতৃক আমাদের এই দেশের মানুষের অর্থনীতি, যোগাযোগ এবং খাদ্যদ্রব্যের চাহিদা পূরণ ক্ষেত্রে নদীগুলো গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে। আমাদের উচিৎ এসব নদীগুলোর যথেষ্ট ব্যবহার করা । এছাড়া এগুলো যেন দূষিত না হয় সেদিকে সতর্ক থাকা । নদী আমাদের একটি প্রাকৃতিক সম্পদ যা সংরক্ষণে দায়িত্ব আমাদের সবার। নদীকে দখলমুক্ত রাখা এবং কলকারখানার বর্জ্য সরাসরি যেন নদীর পানিতে মিশতে পারে সেজন্য আমাদের সরকারিভাবে পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করা উচিৎ নতুবা আমাদের নদীর অস্তিত্ব বিলীন হয়ে যেতে পারে।
